So, a lot has been going on here!! We welcomed a new baby boy 8 weeks ago.. Oliver Alexander! I’ve taken a little hiatus from work, but am now fully back in the swing of things, as you can see from all the photoshoots and blog posts going on lately! Here are a few favorites of my new little bundle of joy. I just love his newborn toes and lashes. Eeeep! We are so happy with our little family!

A spring photoshoot with this lovely gang!! It was baby Harper’s first birthday and we decided on an outdoor photoshoot on location in Bear Creek to capture lots of smiles, the beautiful Colorado backdrop, family time, and gorgeous blooming flowers! I just loved the color this photoshoot produced. And working with this family is the best! Here are a few of my favorites:

How adorable is this sweet family? Grandma and uncle were up from Texas so we decided to capture some wonderful family time together with a photoshoot. We went out on one of those mild winter 50 degree sunny days to Bear Creek Nature Center in Colorado Springs, and everything was perfecto! The light was perfect, the smiles were big, and I came away with the best energy from this incredibly radiant, fun little family. How gorgeous are this little guy’s bright blue eyes? I could not get enough! Here are a few of my favorites images from our shoot!

What a JOY it is to work with fun loving, laid back families like the Burns! We picked a great day before it got super cold here, and the light was stellar. These three munchkins were so adorable and SO well behaved. Dad wanted to shoot at Garden of the Gods, an epic Colorado Springs location, and this shoot was a dream! Could the colors be any more vibrant and beautiful?! The models arent bad, either 😉
We had such a fun afternoon of playing and shooting around during our photo session! Here are just a few of my favorites. I delivered over 150 images of gorgeous photography to this family, because, well, they were just that good! I needed them to see these ALL. They are just such a beautiful, fun family!

AH! Mini sessions in the changing colorado springs fall colors and leaves were a HUGE success! I got to meet some wonderful new families, and got some fabulous imagery for them. We had our little photoshoot mini sessions in Bear Creek Park, on the west side of Colorado Springs, where the leaves were just hanging on at the end of October. I just adored all of the kiddos and families I met that day! Here are a few of my favorites:

Oh MICHAELA! You are just too, too pretty, girl. Look at this beautiful high school senior! I was so excited when she and her mom approached me to capture her senior portraits. This girl is beyond busy – besides being absolutely gorgeous, she is a star volleyball player, and they were going to states the week we had our photoshoot! So her mom and I literally tried to schedule this shoot for about 2 weeks straight. We finally found 45 minutes of spare time that would work for both Michaela’s and my schedules, and off we went to Bear Creek Park in Colorado Springs for our photoshoot. Michaela came totally ready, and sat down for me, and the magic just happened. The light was perfect, she looked beautiful, and we had such a great time. Here are a few of my favorites!

Working with Madison was such a laid back, easy, and wonderful time! This girl is a true beauty, and just the most easy going, sweet soul. She even showed up to our shoot with no shoes.. I just loved her! She doesnt over-think anything, and she loved any ideas I had! Plus, how beautiful is she!? She reminds me of a 1960s flower child hippie. I had to photograph her in those flowers – it just seemed perfect. I think those are my favorites from our shoot!
I told her mom to bring the family along as well so we could get some quick family portraits done, and boy did they nail them! This family has SO much love for each other, and it shoes. It’s just a pleasure working with people like the Mackeys – it makes my job so easy and so fun.

I am going to blog about Adri’s gorgeous wedding on my wedding site (ssdweddings.com for those of you who’d like to check that out!) but for now – I could not help but blog about sweet little Emma. The flower girl in her mama’s wedding and THE most excited, sweet little girl I have ever met. She ran around the salon that morning telling everyone, “I am going to be the flower girl in my mom’s wedding and TODAY is the day she is getting married!” She was just beautiful, and I couldnt help but feature her in my children portfolio as well. Isnt she beautiful?
: : fall mini sessions! : :
Fall mini sessions were so much fun! We chose a location in a really gorgeous park in Colorado Springs in the early morning, and set up with a new prop – a fabulous, Amish-made rocking horse! I just loved the images I got of these sweet sisters, Zoey and Clara, on the horse. I also snapped some of the sweet Smith kids that morning as well! How cute are mommy and Lucy? And mama Courtney and her little baby Jon? Here are some of my favorites:
: : maternity session : milk bath in colorado springs : :
So this was my first attempt at the new trend of “milk bath” maternity sessions. I have to say, I was so impressed at the instant dreamy, light, and smooth backdrop the milk bath created! I photographed gorgeous mama-to-be and fellow photographer in Colorado Springs, Kate, in a bath full of milk. She has done many of these sessions before, and wanted to try it as a model. Win-win! I love trying new things.. and I have to admit, I was hesitant at first – a bath full of milk? But oh my word. It hides what you want to hide, and exposes just enough beautiful round belly and soft curves to make STUNNINGLY beautiful and intimate portraits. We went to her parents’ house in one of the historic old downtown Colorado Springs homes, which had an enormous old claw foot tub, and filled it up. We added a few wildflowers and leaves and greenery from around here (bonus – local foliage!)… and Kate just relaxed and we chatted as I clicked away. I just LOVE these. I’m definitely a milk bath convert. I cant wait to try this again! 🙂 Here are a few of my favorites from our session. How BEAUTIFUL is Kate!?? She is due in two weeks with a little girl and I’m so thrilled for her, and so happy we got to work together.
