Caolinn was AMAZING! Such a sweetheart! I just loved capturing her photos for her senior photoshoot! She had all of her outfits planned, and told me sunflowers were her favorite… and would you believe it? The sunflowers were peaking the very week that she called to book her shoot. I quickly rearranged some shoots so that we could grab some amazing shot. “Drop everything,” I told her, “and get your outfits squared away for these senior portraits!” And the shots were JUST stunning!! She was thrilled to oblige, and just rocked her senior portraits. We also hit Garden of the Gods, and some fun Old Colorado City locations including a giant painted mural wall. She was so fun and creative and went along with all my ideas! And had plenty of her own to make this sun a fun senior photoshoot. What do you think! Here are some of my favorites. Gorgeous, right?

This is a special one, y’all, because it’s my very own sister, plus my own kids! I found the most PERFECT hidden spot for fall photos where the light is just spectacular. We got a few cactus prickers in our fingers, but it was totally worth it. Here are some favorites from my own fall family photoshoot with my family and my sister’s family! I love the cousin shot:

I traveled all the way to Denver to the Red Rocks Amphitheater for this photoshoot for Chase, and he nailed it! He had four outfits ready and knew exactly how he wanted the shoot to go, and where he wanted to shoot. I love a senior photoshoot where the senior comes with ideas ready! I also LOVE it when they include special interests in their shoots. I loved that Chase brought his camo outfit because hunting and fishing is such a big part of his life. He totally rocked his senior session, dont you think? Here are a few of my favorites:

My latest session with 18 month old twins and a 4 year old girl was a blast! These kids had a ton of energy – always moving, moving, moving! It was SO much fun to capture them with the photo journalistic angle and “just let them play” concept, as mom and dad requested! I love letting kids just go wild and chasing behind them with my camera. These unstaged interactions made for some excellent photography for our family session at Bear Creek in Colorado Springs. I love how they turned out! Mom and dad adored the images too, and made GIANT canvases for their walls with the digital negatives. Makes me eternally happy as a photographer to be capturing such fun moments with the littles. Here are a few of my favorite images from our family shoot!

Oh my GOODNESS! Baby Evie, you are so precious! I spent a little time with one of my favorite families a few weeks ago for baby Evie’s arrival, and the images are some of my favorite! I just adore this family, they are so easy to work with! I did oldest daughter Caolinn’s senior photoshoot this summer (coming to the blog soon) and couldnt wait to work with this family more. These were taken in a bedroom with the most beautiful afternoon light – check out a few of my favorites! I am such a sucker for black and white images with a brand new baby and mom and dad snuggling. Bonus is older brother and sister, and even Grandma visiting from Michigan were able to hang out too! I received the best compliments about these images.. mama Allison said, “I cannot stop staring at these sneak peeks! They are AMAZING.. and my mom wasnt even planning on being in the photoshoot.. but because you told her, ‘just a few shots,’ she is so happy, and loves the images you caught of her.” AW! Makes my entire week. Here are a few of my favorites from our newborn session:

What FUN I had with Summer and her gorgeous family of 4 kids! We went to Cottonwood Creek Park and shot around in the beautiful late summer, late afternoon sunlight which was just golden and perfect. Summer is a fellow photographer friend who I just adore. She took our newborn images at the hospital with my second son, and I wanted to return the favor with some family portraits! I got to her house, and she pointed to an empty 8×10 frame which said FAMILY on the top. “This frame has been sitting on my wall empty for over a year. That is what I want to fill.” And so we did!! We got some AWESOME shots.. these kids are just excellent, too! Such good manners and so fun to work with. I told Summer that I hope my boys grow up to be as sweet and fun as her kids are. And aren’t they just angelic looking? They nailed their family photography session, dont you think? Here are a few of my favorites! Check out the “outtake” of funny faces as well.. maybe one of my favorite from our photoshoot!

What beauties these two are! I have had sessions with this mama daughter duo before, but this one was EXTRA special, because a sibling is on his or her way and due in a few weeks! We caught the last of the sunflowers blooming (in my own neighborhood – Colorado Springs, for the win!)- but honestly, these two just look stunning with any backdrop. Cant wait to capture this new baby’s first portraits in another few weeks for a newborn session!

Here are a few of my favorites from our shoot:

Wow, do I have a lot to catch you up on! 14 sessions in the last 2 months with a teething toddler and a 5 month old baby who *just* started sleeping through the night. Whew, folks, it’s been a whirlwind!

This was one of my favorite maternity sessions, like, EVER. Mama Mindy has insanely awesome style, dont you think? That necklace.. those boots! And big brother to be, Nash, did a great job posing with his soon to be born little sister, Ellie!

I loved the shots with the streaming sunbeams coming down — I just love shooting the magical moments of maternity in natural light like this. Pregnancy is a true miracle, and I love the drama of the sunshine and elements involved in the images.

I also love the shot of the ruby sparkle slippers! Mama always wanted them as a little girl and never had them. “So I got a pair for my wedding day, and these will be my little girl’s first pair of shoes.” She picked this image to hang in baby’s room on a big, bright canvas.

Here are a few of my favorites from our session!
